William Ohler

July 11, 1944 — August 15, 2021

William Albert Ohler, of Converse, Texas entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the age of 77. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 11, 1944 to his wonderful parents, Catherine (Bednarz) and Charles Ohler. As a child, William experienced the love and faith that his family instilled in him. Raised in the Catholic religion, he attended parochial schooling in his youth. Later in life, he also attended, Collingwood, Del Mar College (Corpus Christi) and was a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake, with a business administration degree in 1998.

He married Catalina Barragan, in Del Rio, Texas in 1964. William had many passions, football, being one of them. He enjoyed, especially watching, the Dallas Cowboys. Baking and cooking was one of his great talents. He also enjoyed hiking, watching movies and dancing (even though he wasn’t very good at it).

William was funny, adventurous, and most important, a man of faith. His walk with God was significant to him and it showed in his participation with the Knight of Columbus. He volunteered his time for the Pancake Breakfast, BBQ Fundraisers, Donation Blood Drives, Toy Drives; as well as being Knight of the Month in 1993, 1995 and 1998. His commitment to God and church also led him to serve as an extra ordinary Minister of Holy Communion at his parish.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Joiner.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Catalina Ohler; daughter, Christy Hivnor and husband Chad, and son, Charles Ohler; grandchildren, Gabrielle Ohler, Cole Hivnor, Luke Hivnor, Joseph Joiner, Mary Kate Hivnor, Clare Hivnor, Kenzie Ohler, Gianna Hivnor, and Blaise Hivnor.
