Thomas Entler was born Oct. 30,1925 to Clifford and Thelma Entler in Decatur,IL and returned home to our Lord on Oct 9th, 2012 at the age of 86. After graduating high school, Tom served in WWII with the United States Army and upon his return Tom worked with the Decatur Herald and Review for the next 43 years as a Linotype Operator (his passion) and later in the Circulation Department. After retiring he worked for IVM making contact lenses. Tom loved to invent items to simplify life in his spare time although he never patented any of his inventions. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting, gardening and horticulture, making pens on his lathe, working the stock market and watching trains. Tom was a member of Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Tom is survived by his wife of 42 years Carolyn J. Entler, son James Walsh and wife Laura, San Marcus, TX., daughter Jennifer Garcia and husband Albert of San Antonio, TX., grand daughters Paz Garcia, and Andrea King and husband John with 3 great grand daughters, Eliza and Victoria Quiroga and Kennedy King all of Lawton, OK, sister Shirley Nash of Charleston IL, and nieces Shirley Dale, of Charleston,IL., Pamila Yonikus of Austin,TX., Therese Yonikus of Warrenville, IL, nephews Jeff, Chris and Stuart Entler, all of Decatur, IL.
Thomas was preceeded in death by his parents, his frist wife Barbara and one brother Jeff Entler, and a niece. Tom was a genuine and humble man who stood for what he believed in and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
