Sylvia Hernandez was born on October 23, 1945 and passed into eternal life on Thursday, April 1, 2021. She is proceeded in death by her loving husband Jose Ruben Hernandez, and her daughter Belinda H. Tuttle. Sylvia is survived by her two daughters Ruby Hernandez and Yvette H. McFarland.
Sylvia was many things to many different people. She was a daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and cousin, but when Sylvia became a mother that is when she really came into her own. She was a loving and caring mother, and enjoyed life to the fullest. Sylvia then became a grandmother, and has 3 grandchildren: Vincent Hernandez, Alexandria Hernandez and Bianca Hernandez. Her grandchildren lovingly call her Nana. Sylvia doted on her grandchildren and was an active part of each of their lives, and loved them so much that she didn't mind waiting in line for hours for new toys for them. Sylvia was blessed with great grandchildren too. Her grandson Vincent and Liana blessed her with Jonas, Juno, Jase, Jozef and Jayla. Sylvia also has one great grandchild on the way, from her granddaughter Alexandria.
Sylvia was blessed to live with her family that cared for her so well until the day she was called home. Sylvia was blessed to have lived with her brother and sister-in-law Andy and Josie Porras in California, and then lived with her daughter Ruby Hernandez when she came back to San Antonio, Texas. Sylvia also lived with her grandson Vincent and Liana. Once Sylvia was no longer able to live on her own she came to live with her youngest daughter Yvette and her son-in-law James McFarland and her granddaughter Alexandria Hernandez. Her son-in-law James cared for her each day, and lovingly made sure that she had everything she needed. Her granddaughter Allie helped withe her personal care each day.
Sylvia, has an amazing family to include her son-in-law Jeffrey Tuttle, who always came by her and took care of anything she needed at her house.
So today, even though we are saying good-bye to a wonderful and amazing woman, we will celebrate that she was always surrounded by her family and we will carry on her legacy that both Sylvia and Ruben Hernandez taught us all, and that is family comes first always.
Rest in Peace Mom! We love you!
