Sonia Michele Adrian Cruz, age 50, passed away unexpectedly in her home on November 8th, 2021. Sonia was born to Lydia Galarza Lopez and Roman Adrian on July 7th, 1971 in Whiteriver, AZ.
Sonia was preceded in death by her birth parents Lydia and Roman.
Sonia was survived by her stepparents Teresa and Ramon Lopez; her husband Ray Cruz; her brother Benjamin Lopez; her children Lauren Tovar and husband James, Sabrina Adrian, and Julia Snoozy; her grandchildren Adrian Snoozy, Acai Tovar, Sofia Tovar, and Jiraiya Tovar; and a host of other extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Sonia was an “Apache Princess” who was a vibrant free spirit that would always make you laugh. She had a gracious way of speaking that would reach your heart. You would find her singing, dancing, listening to music or going out of her way to meet new people. She was definitely a social butterfly. Every holiday, she would go crazy with decorating the house. She always said Halloween was her favorite holiday, but we think it was secretly Christmas that was her favorite, because she believed in helping others. She actually worked in medical billing to help families that were going through financial hardships. Sonia constantly prayed for everyone. She adored Mother Teresa and Saint Philomena. Like them, she would comfort other people and never judge anyone who was down on their luck. No matter what, she always saw the good in people. As a mother, she was a fierce Mama Bear. She was firm, but she was also our number one cheerleader. She strengthened our faith in God especially when she became a Catholic Daughter of America. Her daughters and grandbabies will always remember her goofy, animated personality especially when they see crosses, coins, or go thrift shopping.
*The family has requested that everyone in attendance wears Sonia's favorite color, teal.*
