Sengmanysay Sisourath

Sengmanysay Sisourath (fondly known as Seng), 81, of Austin, Texas, passed away on May 10, 2023.  She was born in Thateng, Laos on February 7, 1942. In 1980 Seng brought her family to the US for a better life. Seng was so excited the day before her passing.  She was prepping for husband’s birthday (Kydeng) that coincided with Mother’s Day. She wanted to have an epic party on Saturday for everybody to come, eat, and enjoy. She was so happy cooking her famous egg rolls for Kydeng’s birthday and couldn’t wait to see everybody. She was just full of love and positivity. She unexpectedly passed the following morning due to natural causes. She was loved by so many people. She never met a stranger. She loved to feed everybody, firstly, her children and then everybody she ever met. She dedicated her time to her husband, her children, and especially doted on her grandchildren. She was one of those smothering Mother’s/Grandmother’s, but in the best way possible. She was nothing but unconditional love. She is survived by her husband Kydeng Sisourath (age 91), her children Souksavane “Van”(Nang) Sisourath, Soukaseum “Monica”(Oloth) Sourignavong, Sitthideth “Sid” Sisourath, Vetsouvane “Ning”(James) Triampol, Vannareth “Vinny”(Giang) Sisourath, Phouthachareun ”Bae”(Nona) Sisourath, Soukluthay “Thu” Sisourath (Ninh) “Pop” Nguyen, Khamla “Lee” (Renee) Sisourath, her step-daughter Viengxay (Touy) Sengmany. And then by her grandchildren Kaley Sisourath, Sabrina Sisourath, Amanda Sourignavong (deceased), Angelica Sourignavong, Alexandra Triampol, Aaron Sisourath, Thomas Sisourath, Brandon Sisourath, Sebastian Sisourath, Nathan Vo Sisourath, Sydney Nguyen, Summer Nguyen, Khamryn Sisourath, and step-grandson Toby Luangkoth. While Seng’s family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Seng in a way that honors her spirit. Her family invites the community to join them in for a Wake 4-8pm Friday May 19th at Chapel Hill, Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Road, San Antonio, TX 78239 and then the Funeral Service the following Saturday May 20th at 3pm.
