It is with immense sadness that we announce Santiago Rosales, Jr. went to be with the
LORD on July 15, 2020 after a valiant fight with COVID-19. We are thankful for his time
with us. We will forever cherish his memory, and remember with fondness, how much
he loved each of us.
Santiago began his journey on January 11, 1970 in Crystal City, Texas. At an early age
he learned the value of working hard, taking his first job at the age of 7 selling paletas
de hielo. He built an impressive resume of construction experience, and quality
workmanship. He regularly offered a helping hand to family, friends and even strangers.
The light of his life was his daughter, Venessa Y. Merced-Rosales. The day Venessa
was born was the happiest day of his life. He also had a son, Santiago "Elijah" Rosales,
which he was very proud of. Santiago would often say Elijah was going to be his little
buck-a-roo. Santiago met his significant other, Liana Vargas, 18 years ago and her
sons, Christian and Gabriel. They shared many memories together, which Liana
will forever cherish. Santiago spent a short 50 years with us. His laughter, and passion
for all that he loved will be terribly missed. Until we meet again.
Santiago is survived by his significant other, Liana Vargas; his daughter, Venessa Y.
Merced-Rosales; his son, Santiago "Elijah" Rosales; his parents, Santiago Rosales Sr.
and Maria C. Rosales. Santiago was the oldest of 6 siblings. His brother, Jamie
Rosales; and 4 sisters, Anna "Gaby" Avitia, Silvia Andrews, Maria "Lupe" Rosales, and
Angelica Ojeda. Santiago is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
