Roy Koehler, "Papa" to his grandchildren, was born April 12th, 1925 to Emil and Emma Koehler and passed away from this earth with his loving family by his side to join his wife of 65 years, Clydine, on March 23rd, 2015.
Roy is survived by his brother, Marvin Koehler, two sons, Steven (and wife Daisy) and Gary Koehler, three daughters, Linda Messina, Gail (and husband Mike) Kuzich, and Kandee Koehler, nine grandchildren and 7 great granchildren.
Roy was always proud of his service while stationed in England during WWII and proud of his family and all their accomplishments. He was happily ready to share his fantastic stories about his life growing up with his Dad, Mom, and brother and with his cousins, his time in ther Army Air Corps, his antics with fellow IBEW Local 60 coworkers on the job, and his children and grandchildren as they grew up. Above all, Roy loved to make everyone around him happy. He was full of jokes and never had a failed attempt at getting a cranky grandchild into a laughing, giggling state. And it is that smile of his that will stay in the hearts and minds of his family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, Tx 78239, April 1st, 2015 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Duffitt presiding, and interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
