Services for Ronnie Gollehon, 84, will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 24, at the Windcrest United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill. Burial will be in Terrace Cemetery at Post, Tx, the following day.
Ron was born November 3, 1039, on a cotton farm in Post, Tx and died on May 1, 2024.
Ronnie was raised on a grain farm and cattle ranch in House, NM. As a boy, he was very active in 4-H. After earning Bachelor and Master degrees from New Mexico State University, his career in international economic development took off. Ronnie’s work led him overseas, living in Argentina, Tanzania, Thailand and Egypt. At the age of 48, he was appointed president and CEO of Agricultural Cooperative Development International in Washington, DC, where he was responsible for agricultural projects around the world in 35 different countries.
Ronnie has lived in the San Antonio area since 2012. He was a member of the Windcrest United Methodist Church. He loved socializing and playing bridge at the Northeast San Antonio Senior Center. Hobbies included home improvements, buying and selling properties, reading and photography.
Survivors include four daughters, Terry Jo Welsh of Converse, TX, Ronna McKinley of Alexander, AR, Lena Rose of Benton, AR, and Catherina Gollehon of Austria; a brother Noel Gollehon of Gaithersburg, MD; ten grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Windcrest United Methodist Church.
