Romanita Barrera

Romanita Flores Barrera, age 69 years, passed away May 12th, 2015 at her house in Converse surrounded by her family. The daughter of Francisco Flores and Celia Giron, she was born in San Antonio on November 7th, 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Daniel Barrera, sisters Esther Acosta and Judy Rendon. She was also preceded by the spouses of her children Sandra Barrera (married to Daniel, Jr.), Paul Diaz (husband of Romanita), Phillip Hernandez (husband of Celia), Edward Astran (husband of Josephine), and Denny Gonzalez (husband of Felicitas). She is survived by her son Daniel G. Barrera, Jr. and daughters Romanita B. Urridales, Celia B. Hernandez, Josephine Astran and Felicitas Barrera. Her surviving siblings are brothers Francisco G. Flores, Candelio Flores and Charles Flores. Her sisters are Rosie Cortez, Lupe De Luna, Margie Lopez, Yolanda Marcado, and Linda De Angelo. She also leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She will be missed and remembered for her unwavering devotion to her large family, and her joy to see her grand daughter dancing with her dance troupe at El Mercado. A visitation will be held Monday, May 18th, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7355 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, Tx. 78239 between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Deacon Jacques Abat wil preside. A funeral and interment will be held Tuesday, May 19th, 2015 at 10:00 am also at Chapel Hill.
