Robert E. Lee, 79, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on September 29, 2023. He was born on September 6, 1944, in Newport, RI. Robert, also known as Bob, was a kind and friendly individual who always had a warm greeting for those he met. He had a keen interest in football and enjoyed watching the news. Additionally, he was an avid car race fan and shared stories about his grey 55' Ford truck with Pinkish leather seats, which had a unique indicator for reaching 100mph - the windshield wipers would start flapping!
Robert is survived by his sisters Linda Colson, Annette Decker, and Sheila Lee, as well as his sons from his first wife Marilyn, and their sons Eric Lee, Darrell Lee, and Kenneth Lee. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Lee, Father Robert E Lee, Mother Blanche Wheeler, and brother Alan Lee.
Robert was a decorated Vietnam war veteran, serving in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1981, where he dedicated himself to his military associations. In addition, he held a career at the Bureau of Reclamation, where he played a vital role in procuring items for the maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of the Hoover Dam.
In his personal life, Robert worshiped at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His faith was an important aspect of his life, providing him with spiritual guidance and support.
A special thank you to his caregivers Melissa Garcia-Lee (daughter in law), Diana Pierce, Dana Pierce, Josephine Stevens, and many more. Robert would be the first to tell how thankful he was for Missy and the other caregivers.
Robert E. Lee will be deeply missed by his family, including 18 Grandchildren, and 7 Great-Grandchildren, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His kindness, love for racing, and dedication to his country and career will be remembered fondly. Our prayers are with him as he starts his new journey. May he rest in peace.
