Raymond Gary Wilkens was welcomed home peacefully on March 18,2023 at his home in Bulverde, Tx. Ray was born on September 3, 1950 to Robert and Maxine Wilkens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Joseph Wilkens and Maxine Bishop Wilkens, his brother George M. Wilkens and his niece Hannah Grace Wilkens.
Ray is survived by his wife of almost 18 years Catherine (Cathy) Wilkens, and brother Robert (Bob) V. Wilkens. He is also survived by his daughters, Jennifer and husband Pete Applegate
and Sandra and husband Jim Busch. He had 5 grandchildren, Ethan Baker and wife Courtney, Logan and Hoiden Applegate and James and Katherine Busch. He also is survived by nephews, Robert J Wilkens and wife Tabitha, and Steven Wilkens and nieces Tammie Wilkens, Tracie Wilkens, and Raelynn Wilkens. He is also survived by Cathy's family, the Hildebrand family,
whom he readily accepted as his own. Ray held various jobs including pipeline surveyor, warehouse manager, working in mobile home repair, construction and most recently as warehouse manager for an air conditioning company until he retired.
Ray was loved and respected by everyone he met. He would do whatever it took to help someone. He had no enemies. Ray was very personable and always "the life of the party" no matter whose party it was. He absolutely loved life to its' fullest. He had gone through so much in his life but did not let anything stop him. He enjoyed woodworking, building things and fishing. He also loved BBQing, cooking and traveling.
Ray will be missed by everyone that knew him. In his honor, if you like, please wear Hawaiian style shirt and shorts, all he ever wore!
