Petra Castilla

Petra Castilla, aged 80, of San Antonio, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Petra was born on August 04, 1940 in Acuña, Coahuila, Mexicó to Vicenta (Soto) and Dionicio Rios.

Petra was preceded in death by her brother Jesus Rios and his wife Lucia.

Survivors include her sister Virtudes Flores, her only son, Alfredo Castilla and wife Diana; grandchildren, Diana Duncan, Vanessa Castilla, Alfredo Castilla II, Jazmin Castilla, and Julissa Castilla; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Petra was a strong, outgoing-energetic, and independent woman with great leadership skills. These characteristics were displayed not only at home but also in her role as a Supervisor at a textile factory in Mexicó. In her younger years, she was very involved in her faith and helped feed missionaries from the LDS Church. She especially enjoyed listening to Norteño/Ranchera music. Her family will remember her for her amazing cooking and will miss her hand made flour tortillas.

Visitation Services will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on Monday, January 4, 2020 and begin at 11:00 A.M.  A brother from the Latter Day Saints Church will Talk at 12:00 P.M. A Graveside Service will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
