Pauline Johnson

Pauline was born on February 14, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Nikolas Mireles and Dolores Camacho Mireles. She grew up and attended school in San Antonio and in 1966 she graduated from Edgewood High School.

In 1970, Pauline and Clinton O. Johnson were united in marriage in San Antonio. From this loving union came three sons Clinton Jr., Denisho (deceased), and Erik M. Johnson. Once the children were in school Pauline and her family accepted career offers and moved to Austin in 1984.

Pauline went to work for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) where she continued her career for 30 years in numerous positions such as Extractions (mailroom) and as a Tax Examiner. She retired in May 2014 as a Bilingual Identity Theft Examiner. She provided services that IRS needed and helped bridge the communication gaps between the IRS and the community of Spanish speaking brothers and sisters. Pauline was awarded many times for her dedication to facilitating communication for Spanish speaking customers.

Pauline loved many activities that included her family and friends. She was a beautiful spirit always ready for a concert, family gatherings, birthday parties, cooking in bi-cultural ways, shopping, traveling for weekends away to visit family and friends. She was an outspoken person who looked forward to happy times! She was a generous soul helping others, relatives, friends, especially her husband and their three sons.

Pauline departed this life on Tuesday February 27, 2018 after battling pancreatic cancer.

Pauline is survived by her sons Clinton Johnson, Jr. (Blanche) and Erik M. Johnson; granddaughter Anaiah Q. Johnson; Sister-in-laws, Janie Narvaiz, Carolyn Stevens, Ursula Taylor and Janice Catley; Brother-in-laws Darryl and Kirk Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
