Norma M. Garcia

Norma Martinez Garcia was born May 16, 1958, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She passed away on August 17, 2024, in Schertz, Texas. Norma graduated from Tuloso Midway High School and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in Kingsville, TX. Norma worked in various hospitals throughout Texas, including Warm Springs and Humana Hospital as a dietary technician. She later worked as the Cafeteria Manager at Converse Elementary School where she retired after 18 years in 2021.

In her free time, she was a highly active member of her church, strong in her faith and always eager to spread the Good Word. She loved to read, watch movies, listen to music, garden, and sew.

Norma was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, cousin, friend, and aunt. After 25 years of marriage, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Garcia. She is survived by her children, Vanessa Goodwin, Clarissa Rodriuez, and Miguel Gonzalez,V; grandchildren, John, Alyssa, and Andrew Goodwin; great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Kyrie Goodwin. Norma is also survived by her siblings, Jesse Martinez, Jorge Martinez, Ted Martin, Yolanda Landin, Raoul Martinez, Hortencia Villanueva, Maricela Sosa, Saundra Longoria, and Hector Martinez.
