Mary Ann (Altamirano) Flood was born on March 6, 1957, in the City of Manila, capital of the Philippines, to Henry and Luming Altamirano. She was called to her final rest on August 14, 2022.
Mary Ann (affectionately referred to as “Ate Ann” by younger siblings and extended family), the oldest of six children, spent her early years in the Philippines, growing up in the City of Tuguegarao, capital of the province of Cagayan, and emigrated to the United States in 1987. Committed to building a successful life in a new country, she became a registered nurse and left her lasting impression on various hospitals in the New Orleans, LA and Eagle Pass, TX areas. She took immense pride in her nursing career and through decades of hard work, helped shape the careers of many young nurses and healthcare providers to join the profession. She lived a life deeply devoted to the service of others – her patients, friends, colleagues, and most of all, her family.
Mary Ann leaves behind her devoted partner in life, Gary; two loving sons Jonathan Flood and Josh Flood (Emily); beloved grandchildren Justin Flood, Tyler Flood, and Cara Flood; sisters Helen Altamirano Borja (Pope), Janet Lu (Michael), Emily Altamirano Trigas (Theo), and Malu Altamirano Antonio (Austin); mother-in-law Theresa Gonzales, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Luming, brother Alex (Boyet) Altamirano, and father-in-law Curtis “Sonny” Gonzales.
