Mary Durkin
December 3, 1942 — July 16, 2015
Mary Jane Durkin, age 72 years passed away July 16th, 2015. Born December 3rd, 1942, in Syracuse, New York, she was the daughter of James Spears and Jeanne Scheel. Mary is best known for her love of Bingo and her infectious laugh. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies' Auxillary in Universal City, Texas for many years and was even elected president one year. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son William F. Durkin, as well as her brothers James Spears and Floyd Robert Spears. Surviving family members are her daughter, Jane Wuerzberger and her husband Kenneth of Lansing, Kansas, grandchildren Amanda Reinartz of Hondo, Texas, Patrick Manger, currently serving our country at Fort Stewart, Georgia, and Kenneth W. and Breanna Wuerzberger, both of Lansing, Kansas. Mary also had 3 great grandchildren. She was loved and will be missed deeply. A funeral was held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, Tx., 78239, on July 24th, 2015 with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
