Martin Berrelez Alvarado passed away at home surrounded by family on March 12, 2023. Martin fought the good fight against cancer as long as he could. He was born to Martin L. Alvarado and Maria Apolinar Berrelez on May 28, 1944 in El Indio,Texas.
Martin joined the police force in 1983 and retired in 2008. He also enjoyed working in parts sales.
He is preceded in death by his mother Maria Apolinar Berrelez, and siblings Delia Alvarado, Oscar B. Alvarado, and Robert B. Alvarado. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Esperanza; father Martin L. Alvarado; daughters, Delia Olivarri (Mark) and Dalia Mitzelfelt (Jeff); granddaughters Kristyna Maynard, Anyssa and Alayna Torres; great-grandson Dylan Maynard; siblings Rachel Moreno, Mary Castillo, Irma DeSantiago, Omar Alvarado, and Yolanda Benavides; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He loved to be with family and friends, taking shots, cracking jokes, shooting guns and fishing. He always looked after his loved ones, and we know he is looking down on us from Heaven now, happy to be reunited with his family up above.
