Martha Ayres

Martha Estelle Ayres, 43, passed away Thursday, May 9th, 2019 after numerous health problems. She was born July 20, 1975 to Johnny Bradford and Rebecca Meadows in San Antonio, TX.  She was raised by her father, Johnny Bradford and step-mom, Cynda Bradford.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Meadows and her grandparents, Cecil and Cora Bradford, Arthur Taylor, Dade Landrum, and Clinton Mitchell.  She is survived by her husband, Byron Kelly Ayres, her loving children, Zachary and Brannan; her father, Johnny Bradford and mother Cynda Bradford; her sisters Lara Varcasia (Joseph), Norma McCall(Philip); brothers, Johnny Bradford Jr. (Brandy), Thomas Overly and Timothy Overly; her grandmother’s Norma Taylor and Ruth Mitchell, nieces and nephews, Denise, Martin, Taylor, Kenny, Tyler, Bradley, Douglas, Vance, and Arthur.

Martha graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in San Antonio, TX.  She attended Wayland Baptist University to pursue her degree in Education. Martha was known for her love of gardening and tending to her flowers.  She will be most remembered for her tremendous heart for children and animals and how she went out of her way to help them. Martha loved her children and family fiercely, lived life to the fullest, and her smile and laughter will never be forgotten.

A Visitation will be held Monday, May 13th, 2019 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, TX 78239, between the hours of 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 14th, 2019 at 1:00 pm also at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
