Mario Robinson, Ii

April 24, 1997 — November 7, 2020

Mario Andretti Robinson II, of San Antonio, tragically passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the very young age of 23. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 24, 1997 to Mario Andretti Robinson Sr. and Crystal Louise Contreras.

Mario grew up in San Antonio and Universal City, a typical young boy who loved monster trucks and hot wheels, fast cars and sports.  As a child and into his early teens, Mario had a silly personality and would light up a room with his smile and his antics.  Laughter was sure to follow Mario everywhere he went.  Mario quickly expanded his love of basketball and football into water sports like swimming and especially water skiing.

Mario attended James Madison High School where he enjoyed playing football and being the life of the class.  His easy-going personality and infectious smile made making friends easy and made him a magnet to attract others. Mario graduated from Samuel Clemens High School and eventually found employment at Quality Custom Distribution in Schertz where his antics quickly earned the love of his co-workers and management.  Mario had a skill set as a forklift driver that would get most fired from their job, but because Mario was Mario, he could get away with doing wheelies and having as much fun as he wanted.

Mario was a prankster who loved to make people smile.  His jokes were always in good fun and never ill hearted, he didn’t have it in him to be mean to anyone.  As infectious his spirit was to those around him, the love he had for his family showed even stronger.  He was protective of his family, especially his sisters.  Mario’s brief time on this Earth filled the hearts of many and his loss will leave a void that will never truly be filled.

Mario is survived by his father Mario Andretti Robinson, Sr., and wife Ardelia Robinson, mother, Crystal Tovar, and husband Daniel; companion, Tyler Luna, of San Antonio; siblings, Leonard Brown, and companion Destiny, of San Antonio, and Ronnie King of San Antonio, Brianna Juarez, and companion Matt Vasquez, Charles Robinson of Universal City, Jennae Ramey of Houston, Leann Juarez of San Antonio; Christopher Robinson and Andretti Robinson, both of Universal City,  Nathaniel Juarez and Lovette Juarez, both of San Antonio; grandparents, Lillie and Lou Zurita, Manuel and Robbie Robinson, Willie Newton, Martha and Daniel Tovar, and Linda Juarez; great grandmother, Lillie Gomez; nieces and nephews, Aiden Vasquez, Jalen “Cheeks” Vasquez, Keith Brown and Lysaiya Brown; and by a host of other relatives and friends.
