Maria Hernandez

Maria Josefina Hernandez was called home by our Heavenly Father on December 7, 2017 at the age of 79. She was born February 17, 1938 to Pedro Hernandez Jimenez and Angela Negron Santiago, in Camuy Puerto Rico. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband Ismael Hernandez Sr of 62 years. Her children Maria Ramirez, Ismael Hernandez Jr, Nestor Hernandez, and Oscar Hernandez. Preceded in death by her grandsons David Moses and Javier Alejandro.  Her grandchildren Vanessa, Carlos, Gabriel, Leslie, Lennis, Alexis and Andria. Her sisters Elisa Rivera, Maria Luisa Hernandez, Aida Fuertes, and her brother Hector Hernandez.

She was the example for all to live by. She was courageous in the battle with her illness. If you were blessed to have the privilege to have her in your life, you know that this earth was a better place with her in it. Maria will live in our hearts and will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Monica Catholic Church, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
