Maria “Kiki” Rita Green was born March 09, 1959 and returned home to be with our Lord on April 04, 2023, surrounded by her family.
She is preceded in death by her Mother Leandra Y Ramirez, her Father Augustine M Ramirez Sr. and her Brother Hipolito “Paul” Ramirez. Maria is survived by her Son Nicholas “Nik” E R Gamez, Son Joseph “Jeaux” P Gamez, Aunt Mary R Yanez, Brother Augustine F Ramirez Jr. and wife Ana Ramirez, Sister Ida A Constancio and husband Miguel A Constancio Sr., Nieces and Nephews Mark Ordonez, Samantha L Ramirez, Valerie A Hernandez and husband Richard Hernandez, Miguel A Constancio Jr., Christina J Luce and husband Kevin Luce, Edward D Constancio and Cecilia “Ceci” R Hernandez.
Growing up, Maria was free spirited, rebellious and independent. She was also very close to her brother and sister and took pride in the bond they built and shared throughout their lives. Maria worked various jobs until she married in 1982. Shortly after marriage, Maria gave birth to her 2 sons. Raising, providing for and protecting them, quickly became her driving force in life. When Maria became a single parent she began working 2 jobs, 7 days a week, just to support her family. Despite working those long hours, she always found a way to attend her son’s football, basketball, baseball, soccer, choir and marching band practices, games and performances; because supporting her sons and everything they did was always her number 1 priority. No matter how good or bad those games and performances were, Maria was always the loudest and the proudest parent on the sidelines.
Apart from family, Maria had many hobbies and joys in life. Fishing was her absolute passion. Any chance there was to sneak away and go fishing, she never hesitated. Maria was always the first one out the door, with her rod and reel in hand. Maria loved watching sports with her sons and you could always find her rooting for her favorite teams, the Spurs and the Steelers. Maria loved taking spontaneous trips as well. She would turn her music all the way up, her phone all the way down, and drive out to the country for some good barbecue or even just to walk around small towns like Gruene or Luling, TX. Maria also cherished her quiet time and loved to just stay home, order some takeout and binge watch her favorite TV shows and movies with her 2 sons. Our Mama passionately enjoyed enjoying life but mostly she enjoyed spending time with family.
Maria made friends wherever she went and we know she will leave behind so many memories with so many people. Even though she was small in stature, her personality was gigantic! We will always remember her smile, her infectious laugh, her famous bear hugs, her tender kisses, her kind and gentle soul and her enormous heart.
We’re crying right now Mama but “you don’t worry”!!!… We will do our best to start tomorrow without you standing by our side and we will continue to try and make you proud every single day. So until we meet again, we’ll tell you goodbye one last time, the way we’ve always said it… God be with You.
We Love You and We “Miss You Already”.
