Maria Gibson

Maria Salas Gibson, age 65 years, passed away on January 24th, 2016. She was born in Mc Allen Texas on May 21st, 1950 to Juanquina Santiago. Maria worked tirelessly at the San Antonio Country Club. Married to James Gibson, Maria enjoyed the love of her extended family for her entire life. She is survived by her husband James; her sons Pete Silva, Rene Silva and James Gibson; daughters April Mercado and Sandra Silva. She also leaves behind her brothers Chuey Salas, Hector Santiago, Adrian Santiago and Edward Santiago; sisters Racheal Cavazos and Cynida Cantu, and five grandchildren. Her husband James wrote; "Loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother; how your presence touched us, loved us and lifted our spirit. May you remain forever in our hearts and minds. May our Lord forever care for you with His love and carrying hands." A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 31st, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:30 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd. San Antonio, Tx. 78239. A funeral will be held at St. Monica's Catholic Church in Converse, Texas on Monday, February 1st., 2016 at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
