Leticia Hernandez

Leticia Garza Hernandez, born Sept. 23rd, 1952 in Laredo, Texas, passed away April 26th, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her son Michael Paul Hernandez and her parents Fabian M. Garza and Guadalupe V. Garza. She is survived by her son Edward A. Hernandez, daughter Lauren G. Calandres (Albert), grandchildren Edward A. Hernandez Jr., Michael Paul Hernandez II, Michaela Janai Day, Elias JoVan Hernandez, Jaeden Lee-Anthony Hernandez, Allyrie Joy Calandres, and her siblings Antulio, Janie, Alicia, Rebecca, Lupita, Leticia, Fabian Jr., Simon, Isaac, Iris, twins Jacob and Seth, triplets Angelica, Alma and Venus and their spouses, numerous nieces and nephews. Our mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend was the first female drum major at Lanier High School in 1970. She graduated and went on to attend and earn her associate's degree at San Antonio College. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching and cheering on the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys. Although being ill, she never let that stop her; she continued on to persevere and enjoy life. Her strength and determination were a true testament to who she was and that which pushed her to continue on. She will be missed by all, although we know that she is no longer in pain. Visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, Texas, 78239 Tuesday, April 28th, 2015 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon. A funeral service will be at 12:00 noon, also at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
