Karla Pahola Barraza, age 21, of San Antonio, passed away tragically in the late evening hours of Saturday, December 12, 2020. Karla was born in Houston, Texas on February 4, 1999 to Carlos Barraza and Myrna Palomares Pinedo; she survives.
Karla attended Roosevelt High School and spent much of her time at church, where she met Jacob Vasquez. They were married on July 2, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas. Together they saw 4 years of marriage, the birth of two young children, and shared memories that will last a lifetime.
Those who knew Karla best will remember a young, beautiful girl with the heart of gold and a personality that could light up a room. From the time she was a young girl, Karla was always outgoing and smiling. She loved to make people laugh and could find a joke in any situation. Her thoughtfulness led her to put everyone before herself. She loved baking and giving flowers, especially to her father, David. Karla grew up attending the Iglesia Evangelica Cristiana Espiritual where she loved to sing and be active in the church.
Though her life was short, Karla leaves behind a legacy of love and beauty and a lifetime of memories that will live on in the hearts of those she knew and loved.
Karla is survived by her husband, Jacob; two children, Angelina and Natalia Vasquez; mother, Myrna Pinedo, and husband David; one sister, Vanessa Barraza Hernandez, and husband Jhonathan; grandparents, Josefina Palomares, Rosario Borboa, Delta Herrera, and Luis Ignacio Pinedo all of San Antonio; and by a host of other relatives and very special friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carlos Barraza, and her grandfather, Marcos Palomares.
Funeral services for Karla will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery in LaVernia. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Friday evening, at the funeral home, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M.

Karla asistió a la escuela secundaria Roosevelt, donde conoció a Jacob Vasquez. Se casaron el 2 de julio de 2016 en San Antonio, Texas. Juntos vieron 4 años de matrimonio, el nacimiento de dos niños pequeños y compartieron recuerdos que durarán toda la vida.

Aunque su vida fue corta, Karla deja un legado de amor y belleza y una vida de recuerdos que perdurará en los corazones de aquellos a quienes conoció y amaba.
A Karla le sobreviven su esposo, Jacob; dos hijos, Angelina y Natalia Vasquez; madre, Myrna Pinedo y esposo David; una hermana, Vanessa Barraza Hernandez, y su esposo Jhonathan; abuela, Josefina Palomares, toda San Antonio; y por una multitud de otros familiares y amigos muy especiales.
Le precedieron en la muerte su padre, Carlos Barraza, y su abuelo, Marcos Palomares.
Los servicios funerarios de Karla se llevarán a cabo a las 10:00 a.m., el sábado 19 de diciembre de 2020 en Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Seguirá el entierro en el cementerio de St. Ann en LaVernia. El velorio se llevará a cabo de 6:00 a 8:00 p.m., el viernes por la noche, en la funeraria, con un servicio de oración a las 7:00 p.m.
