Joyce Kay (Hilliard) Hodge, 74, of San Antonio, Texas, went to be with her heavenly Father peacefully at her home in San Antonio on November 6, 2021.
Joyce Kay (Sissy) was born October 10, 1947 in Freer, Texas to Olan and Joyce Hilliard and spent her entire life in both Freer and later San Antonio. After graduating from Freer High School Sissy spent several years raising her family and working for Mobil Uranium. Sissy married "Coach" on September 8, 1979 and had just celebrated 42 years of marriage. Sissy later retired from AON Insurance, where she worked as a underwriter. After retirement Sissy worked for Shorthorn Resources as a Landman. Sissy enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sissy kept her membership at First Baptist Church, Freer, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joe Mack Hillard (Sharon) of Corpus Christi, Texas.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leon E. Hodge; son, Scott W. Haynes of Jacksboro; daughter, Kella Mussey of San Antonio; Step-daughter, Jennifer Wilkie of Jacksonville, FL; Step-son, Matthew Hodge of San Antonio; Brother, Olan Glenn (Lanell) of Giddings, Texas; Sister, Linda Little (Burl) of Alto, NM; Grandchildren, Johnna (John) Baladez, Logan Mussey, Kaylan Mussey, Alison Haynes, Sierra Robinson, Desiree Robinson, Gracie Lee, Martin Lee, Syndey Lee, Hunter Lee, Charlie Lee, Elaine Hodge, Mason Hodge, Shawn Hodge, Ryan Hodge, Aiden Hodge, Elijah Hodge, Great-grandchildren; Brixton, Maverick, Rory, Emelia, Aerissa, Oliver; and several nieces and nephews.
The family has requested that all those in attendance wear a mask at all times.
