Obituary of Joyce Virginia Ake Galle

Joyce Virginia Ake Galle entered eternal rest on March 22, 2025 at the age of 97. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Vernon Edward Galle; her parents George D. Ake and Bessie V. Hester Ake; her brother George D. Ake Jr.; Sisters Billie D. Everett and Betty Jean Cotton; and Great Grandson Michael Bialowas.

She is survived by her daughters Barbara J. Knox, Velma Galle, Vernel Newman, and Beverly Byrge (Chuck). Five grandchildren Kimberly LaQue (Jerome), Stephen Knox (Stephanie), Nicholas Knox (Rosemary), Virginia Bialowos (Jody) Michelle Friedeck (Nelson). Nine Great Grandchildren Megan Diaz (David), Katelyn Knox, Abigayle Knox, Cassidy Knox, Noah Knox, Annabell Knox, Ashlyn LaQue; David Bialowos, Dean Friedeck. Two Great Great Grandchildren David Diaz and Makenzie Diaz. Her brother Charles Lee Ake (Margie).

Joyce was a long time member of the Harlandale Christian Church where she blessed many people with her love and big hugs that she loved to share.

Joyce and Vernon were married August 14, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas where they shared a 70 year marriage. Joyce was a devoted homemaker and loved having her family around. She hosted many lunches dinners holiday gatherings. In 1985 when Vernon retired they packed up their motor home and set off to see America. Visiting the sights along the way as they visited with family and old friends. They always found their way home for the holidays and family time which was her most cherished memories.
