John Abraham Vargas, our beloved son, dad, brother, uncle, best friend, and most of all our SUPERMAN passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025, after a courageous and brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his children, Ivy Star Janelle and John Gage Vargas, his mother, Chris Vargas, his sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and great nephew. He is reunited with our baby brother, Daniel Jacob Vargas, and our father, Domingo Vargas Jr., in heaven.
John lived his life to the fullest. If he wasn’t traveling to some beautiful island, finding his way front row, VIP, or down on the field, you could find him in the gym. His love for working out every day not only inspired many, but also proves that he was the HARDEST WORKER IN THE ROOM.
A devoted father, John was kind, caring, compassionate and taught his children to believe in themselves and never give up. As a son, John cherished his mother and his love for her will transcend lifetimes. He once said “When people ask where I got my respect and admiration for women, it’s because of my sisters and mother, who taught me by example”. John was a real one, always a gentlemen and charismatic, his presence and energy drew everyone to him. We are proud of the man he was and the legend he leaves. While we are heartbroken by this, we are thankful for the memories and good times we shared. We will continue to carry on living our lives to the fullest, the way he would have wanted it.
We want to give a special thank you to the nurses at 5-East who truly stepped up and became family. We love you, 5-East forever!
If you would like to honor John, the family requests that you consider donating to the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center, as they were instrumental through his battle.
