Mr. John Kenneth Jarvis was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 24th, 1932 and passed from this earth on February 22nd, 2014.
John served in the U.S. Air Force as a flight engineer on B-29 Bombers during the Korean War. After he left the service, he became a Bexar County Deputy Sheriff and then a Comal County Constable. He attended the University of Texas and then worked as a mechanical engineer until he retired. John was very active in the community. He was a past President of Schertz/Cibolo/ Universal City School Board, a charter member of Bracken Volunteer Fire Department and an active member of the Guadalupe County Republican Party Committee.
John is preceeded in death by his Mother, Marjorie Stannick Hoffman, his sisters, Mary Alice McVarish (Bellvue, WA), Marjorie Madeline Alfonso (NYC), Gloria Napoli (Cibolo, Texas) and Frances Fasfanello of New York, NY .
John is survived by his wife of fifty- four years, Patsy Ruth Jarvis, son, James Keith Jarvis and his wife Tammy of Cibolo, Texas, his Aunt Madeline Keller (NYC),, his sisters: Carol Woods (Brooklyn, NY), Edith Keller (San Antonio, TX), Ruth Egelston (Albany, NY), Beatrice Picch (kendall Park, NJ), his brothers: Ernest Hoffman (Brooklyn, NY), Charles Hoffman (Texas), and Paul Hoffman (Durham. N.C.), numerous neices, nephews and cousins, as well as his favorite faithful friend, Fred Garza, of Corpus Christi, Texas and long time friend Shirley Perone of Converse, Tx..
