Jesus Victor Tovar, Sr.

Jesus Victor Tovar Sr. (Meskin Dude)was born to Jose G. Tovar and Dolores C. Tovar in Poth, Texas on December 25,1937 and was called to be with our Lord on December 17, 2023 at the age of 85.

He along with his siblings worked in the crop fields with their parents until he became an auto mechanic at the age of 17.

Soon after, he moved to Floresville where he later married and then to San Antonio where he raised his family. He worked for the City Water Board for many years. He then took to his passion of auto mechanics and continued that for 30 plus years. 

He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church where he devoted his time to the Holy Name Society and was a Cursillista. He enjoyed cooking barbecue for church festivals along with his father and brothers.

Jesus was not only a very devoted father and grandfather but also a father figure to many. He loved his family dearly and was always willing to help anyone. He was a devoted Washington Redskins Fan and was always ready to watch his Redskins win against any team. Jesus was a beacon of light and was the glue to his family. He will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.

He was predeceased by his parents Jose G. Tovar and Dolores C. Tovar, brothers Jose C. Tovar Jr. Benito Tovar Sr., Francisco  C. Tovar and sister, Aurora T. Monnrrial.

He is survived by his brother, Juan C. Tovar Sr. sister-in-law, Felicita Tovar and his children, Jesus V. Tovar Jr. and wife Belia. Patricia T. Brooks, Belinda M. Tovar, David M. Tovar, Santiago M. Tovar and wife Thelma. He leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Also numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
