Jane passed peacefully from this life the morning of December 26th after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life.
Jane was born at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho to Eddie Carr and Arletha (Johnson) Carr. Jane lived most of her early childhood in Coshocton, Ohio with her brothers directly after her father’s military service. She then moved to Caribou, Maine for her teenage years. After graduating from Caribou High School in Maine, she eagerly joined the U.S. Air Force completing certification in two specialties. The later specialty was an Air Traffic Control Operator. After military service, she worked avidly as a Paraeducator for over 20 years and achieved her lifelong goal, earning a degree at Yuba College in California. She was very caring and working with special needs children was her calling.
Jane met her husband Lawrence while stationed in Okinawa, Japan. They embarked on an incredible journey of “military life” giving birth to their son Louis and building great friendships all over the world. She enjoyed travel and visited or lived in Japan, Germany, Portugal, Azores, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Iceland, Greece, Mexico, England, Hawaii, Bahamas and a multitude of places in the United States. During Lawrence’s numerous military deployments, Jane showed great strength by administrating all family affairs in his absence and superbly cared for Louis. She was the rock of the family and always made sure that the world was right.
Jane was never idle and had many hobbies such as traveling, bingo, cooking, puzzles and quilting. She was a kind and loving mother and wife with a great, warm smile and laugh. She was extremely active enjoying life to the fullest.
Jane is survived by her husband of 30 years, Lawrence; her son, Louis; brothers Jarvis, Jeffrey and Jerome; nephew Ivan; sister in-laws Regina and Mai; stepfather Frank; cousins and friends.
