James Thomas Stone of San Antonio, Texas went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2021, at the age of 79, with his family by his side. He was born on July 17, 1942, in Selman City, Texas to James Stone, Sr. and Beatrice Marie (Turner) Stone.
James was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather and, great friend to the people in his life. He was a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rosebud, Texas and proudly served his country in the United States Army for 4 years when he was younger. His loving presence will be deeply missed by all his family.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother as well as 1 sister and his late wife, Melissa Stone.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 15 years of marriage, Maria Stone; his stepdaughters, Terry Sanchez and Tracy (George) Vega; grandchildren, Julian Alexander Sanchez, Gabriela Alexandra Sanchez, James Michael Vega and, George Vega, Jr.; sister, Sharon Stone; nephew, J.T. Fleming; nieces, Ann Beckman, Samara Maxwell, Melissa Maxwell, 6 great nephews and 3 great nieces.
Visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Friday, January 14, 2022, by 9:30 a.m. to St. Helena’s Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rosebud, Texas the address is 319 David Earl Street, Rosebud, Texas 76570.
