James Aaron McKenzie

October 5, 1935 — October 9, 2024

James Aaron McKenzie was born October 5, 1935, in Finchburg, AL. After graduating from high school, James joined the United States Air Force, on September 16, 1959, and served his country for 24 years, retiring as a SMS in 1983. While in the Air Force, James met and married the love of his life, Agnes Cecelia Wilke. They were set up on a blind date, but the Air Force had other ideas, and their first date was canceled because the base went on lockdown. James and Agnes finally had an opportunity to meet and on February 6, 1960, they became husband and wife. This union lasted 64 years, until James passed away.

James and Agnes are the parents of four children, Emily, Michael, Patrick, and Kenneth. James was a loving, kind, and generous man, who was and is dearly loved by his family and many others. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children fishing, hunting, and supporting them with the scouts.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Doug Burrows.

James is survived by his wife, Agnes C. McKenzie, daughter; Emily Burrows, sons: Michael (Diana), Patrick (Donna), and Kenneth McKenzie, fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, a brother and two sisters.
