Chief Master Sargent Howard F. Long, USAF Ret., passed away on August 21st, 2015 at the age of 96. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Lois and his daughter Barbara and his son-in-law Raymond. He is survived by his daughters Jeanetta and husband Reggie Davis, Pat and husband Mel Wheeler. Also his grand daughter Dion and husband Floyd; his grandson Gary and great grand daughter Amanda and great great grand daughter Ainsley and niece Debbie. Chief Master Sargent Long was a World War II, Korean and Vietnam war veteran who retired after 31 years in the United States Air Force. He then worked at Kelly Air Force Base and retired after 20 years. He was a member of Greenville Lodge #335 AF and AM for 75 years and Scottish Rite and Alzafar Shrine. A private graveside service was held Thursday, August 27th, 2015 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, Tx. 78239. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in CMS Howard Long's name to the Shriners' Children's Hospital.
