Herbert A. Porte, 67, died after a long struggle with emphysema on Saturday, March 12, 2016 in Converse, Texas. He was born August 24, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana and is preceded in death by his wife Catherine Wale Porte and daughter Angela Forbes. He is survived by a brother and four sisters, his son Edward Porte and four grandchildren: Britnie Porte and Alexis, Joseph and Jeremy Forbes. Herbert worked as a butcher until his retirement and was known for his sense of humor and joy in sharing jokes with family and friends. Services will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, TX 78239, with a visitation on Friday, March 19, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A funeral will begin at 11:00 AM, and interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Park will immediately follow.
