Guadalupe Serna, age 89 years, was reunited with her Heavenly Father on September 11th, 2016 surrounded by her children, grand children, great grand children, and great great grandchildren. She was born October 11th, 1926 to Abundio Gonzales and Urashia Reyes of New Braunfels, Texas. In 1944 she married Roberto R. Serna, and together they had seven children. They were married for 58 years before his passing. "Momo" was an old-fashioned mother and grandmother, who enjoyed cooking for her family, especially the "best" bean and cheese tacos with home-made tortillas. She enjoyed listening to Ranchero music, singing and would often be found at Flamingo Bingo, and playing "Lotteria" with her family. She enjoyed watching "All My Children," " Days of Our Lives," "Fantasy Island," and "Love Boat" on television. A devoted Spurs' fan, she went to see her first play-off game just this past year. Guadalupe was preceded in death by her parents and husband, her sons Alfonzo, Alonzo and Rey Serna, Sr.; and a daughter Rachel Reyes. She is survived by her daughters Yolanda Longoria and Ernestina Cantu; brothers Tony Gonzales, Fernando Gonzales and Jesus Gonzales; and a sister Janie Garcia. She also leaves behind twenty eight grand children, 70 great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. She was here with us for a while, but has returned to our Heavenly Father for eternity. Although she is gone, she will continue to live in our hearts until the day we are reunited. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 19th, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd. San Antonio, Tx 78239. A funeral will be Tuesday, September 20th, 2016 at 9:00 AM. Interment will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:30 AM immediately after the funeral.
