Glenn Bible

Glenn Albert Bible Junior entered into the heavenly gates on January 10th 2018 in San Antonio Texas, with his family by his side after a long battle with cancer and the effects of a stroke. Born in New York,  New York  August 29th 1938 to Glenn Albert Bible Sr and Ronny Bible (Stefani). After graduating from  Roosevelt High School in Emporia Kansas, Glenn joined the United States Air Force.  After returning home from overseas duty in Korea, Glenn was stationed in Abilene Texas, where he was reunited with his high school sweetheart Melvina from Kansas. Melvina was visiting her sister in Abilene and their love story began and endured for 56 years. He married Melvina Ruth Bible (Foster) in Emporia  Kansas, September 2nd 1958.  They both met in high  school, where Glenn first noticed Melvina in the gym and declared she was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on.  Glenn served proudly in the United States Air Force until his retirement from Randolph Brooks Air Force Base in 1977.  Glenn was too active to completely retire and found a passion in law enforcement and eventually became the top security advisor for Frost Bank in downtown San  Antonio.  After retiring a second time, Glenn began working security for Region 20 Education Center in  San Antonio.  Eventually, Glenn would retire a third time to take care of his wife Melvina until she passed away in 2014. Glenn's deep passion was sports.  While attending Roosevelt High School, Glenn lettered in  every sport, football, basketball, baseball, excelling as a top athlete at Roosevelt High School. Glenn also sang in the high school choir and was a male yell leader. That continued passion for sports, lead Glenn to coach sports and referee and umpire on the base at Randolph and off base with various sports teams.  Glenn watched sports teams passionately, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs.  You rarely caught Glenn without his Dallas Cowboy ball cap on his head. If you engaged Glenn in any conversation about sports or Coach Popovich, it might last for thirty minutes or longer about the Coach Popovich’s coaching style, which he thought needed improvement and he had the answer to  help out the coach. Glenn's heart was as big as Texas and it showed with his children and especially, his grandchildchildren and great grandchildren. He was generous and kind and loved sharing his past experiences about the Air Force.  Glenn resided in  Universal City for over forty years and raised five children, Craig Bible, Cary Bible Christine (Sissy) Bible‐Council and Cindy Bible‐Kresta and Cheryl Bible.  He is survived by his two daughters, Christine-Sissy Council (husband Jay Council) and Cindy Kresta, (husband Ronnie Kresta.) Grandchildren James Kresta (Laura Kresta) Shelly Kresta, Sean Kresta, Desirae Schamaun (Shane Schamaun) Chesarae Council, Cody Council.  Craig Bible Jr., Clarisse Grages (Andrew Grages).  Great Grandchildren, Shane Council, Abraham Grages, Emma Kresta, Mia Council.
