Gilbert Gonzalez

On May 16th, 2016, Gilbert Gonzalez, at the young age of 52 years, lost his heroic battle with lymphoma. He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and best friend who was cherished by many. A great man who was a role model and mentor to his many children, grandchildren and friends. Gilbert loved the outdoors and would hunt, fish and go camping often. He also enjoyed skating and working on cars. It seemed there was nothing he couldn't do. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Andres Gonzalez and Agapita Rodriguez and his sister Lupe. He is survived by the love of his life, Maria Gonzalez and his children; Anna, Samantha, Vanessa, Wedo, Priscilla, Marissa, Andrew, Santiago, Mikey and Gilbert, Jr. He also leaves behind his grandchildren; Jocelyn, Mike Anthony, Gabriel Jr., Jordan Aamyrah, Aaliyah, Gabby, Brandon and A.J. Also, brothers Hector and Alex, and sisters Rosa and Isabel, many nieces and nephews, and birth mother Manuela Preciado. Gilbert's family would also like to acknowledge and thank our brothers and sisters for life Jr. and Julie, Donna and Debra, Nathan, Arturo, Pancho, Gerald, Julie and Letty; thank you for going through this journey with us, and for all of your support, love and encouragement. A visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, TX 78239 on May 24th, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with Rosary at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be May 25th at 11:30 AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 6680 Crestway Dr., Windcrest, Tx 78239 with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, Tx 78239
