Francisco Zurita, age 64, of San Antonio, went to be with our Lord and Savior in the evening hours of November 9, 2020 at Northeast Baptist Hospital after a brief illness. Francisco was born on October 9, 1956 in Cheran, Michoacan, Mexico to the late Isauro Zurita and Juliana Herrera Zurita.
Francisco Zurita married Carmen Maria Garcia in December 1976. Together they have spent the next 44 years raising a family and living a lifetime of memories.
Those who knew Francisco best will remember him for his cooking – BBQ and music were his favorite, his drive to never rest, and his willingness to help and to give. The love he had for his family, especially his grandchildren, will be missed for generations to come. Francisco attended church at the San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio.
Francisco will be remembered for the dedication he had to his beloved family and his tradition of giving all his family and friends balloons for their birthdays.
Francisco is survived by his wife, Carmen; children, Martina Nubia Zurita, of Oklahoma, Armando Zurita, and wife Vanessa, of Natalia, Texas, Gerardo Daniel Zurita, and partner Amanda Arau, of San Antonio, and Maribel Zurita, and partner J.R. Casas, of San Antonio; mother, Juliana Zurita, of Mexico; 14 grandchildren, 6 sisters, 1 brother and by a host of other relatives and very special friends.
Francisco was also preceded in death by one sister, Elena Herrera.
