Felice Nappi

January 23, 1920 — April 11, 2018

Felice (Phil) Nappi, 98, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Gruene Senior Living Center in New Braunfels, TX where he was lovingly tended for 3 years. He leaves behind Irene (Amoruso) Nappi, his wife of 72 years, also of the Gruene Senior Living Center.

Phil was born in Mount Vernon, New York, and as a teen attended high school where he learned to be an electrician. He retired as a Master Electrician at the age of 62.

Phil served in the US Army during World War II, and earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. His division landed on Omaha Beach during D-Day in June of 1944, and helped to liberate the French town of Saint Lo. He and other veterans were honored there on D-Day's 50th anniversary.

Throughout his adult life Phil enjoyed making furniture out of wood in his workshop, and playing his mandolin. He loved a good practical joke and was very proud of his Italian heritage.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and one sister. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Linda (Steve) Chontos, and Marilyn (Ted) Brown, and son Peter Nappi (Carla), as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held April 24, 2018, at 10:00am at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with grandson Pastor Todd Chontos officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service.
