Esperansa Rios Miranda went to be in the presence of the Lord on May 23, 2017. Surrounded by her loved ones, she passed peacefully at her home in San Antonio, Texas.
She was born in New Braunfels, Texas on October 19, 1931 to Andres and Acencion Rios. Her family moved to San Antonio where she attended Fox Tech High School. After 15 years of marriage to Leandro H. Miranda and 6 children, she embarked on a career within the Health Care profession. While working full time and raising her children as a single parent, she attended health science classes at San Antonio Jr. College. She was blessed with a large and loving family. She was a cherished and honored member of the Salvation Army Church and active in the Home League and Women's Auxiliary programs. She was a believer in family, faith and education. Later in life, she enjoyed family visits to California, trips to Las Vegas, and the Corpus Christi Beach.
Esperansa was grounded in her faith and very giving. She was a faithful Christian worshiping at the Church of the Salvation Army. Her wit, her confidence and her laughter will be missed by her loved ones, who celebrate her life and rejoice knowing she is at peace with her creator.
She is survived by her sister: Maria Munoz; her sons Leonard Miranda, John Miranda, William Miranda, Jose Miranda, Jesus Miranda, and her daughter Norma Jean Moncada; her grandchildren Anthony Miranda, Rebecca Miranda, Matthew Miranda, John Christen Miranda, Walter Miranda, Miranda Miranda ; her great grandchild: Kieran Miranda. Numerous nieces and nephews, including Connie Rios Hernandez, Alfred Munoz, Steve Pritchard, Auree Pritchard and Derek Cantu.
We will always carry her memory in our hearts.

On Tuesday, May 30th from 5-9pm , a wake will be held at Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens located at 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd, San Antonio, TX 78239. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00am at the Salvation Army Church located on 3802 SW Military Dr, San Antonio. Procession to the cemetery will follow.
