Bui Tuan Dung passed away on February 17, 2018 in Universal City, TX at the age of 68. He was born on January 18, 1950 in Hanoi, Vietnam to Thang and Lan Bui. Bui arrived in the United States in 1975 and attended the University of Houston. In 1983 he received his Masters in Pharmacy from Texas Southern University. He began his career at Santa Rosa Hospital and transferred to San Antonio State Hospital where he eventually retired in March 2016. He enjoyed spending time with his loyal dog, Toby, and traveling the world with his wife and siblings. He was an avid fan of Korean dramas and enjoyed the latest action movies. But above all else, he had tremendous love for his family. He was a great man and an even better father and husband.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Bach-Lan Tran, his son, Mike, and his wife Michelle, and his daughter Tiffany. He is also survived by his eight siblings: Oanh Mai and her husband Bang Mai, Tai Bui and his wife Lan Bui, Hung Bui and his wife Huong Bui, Chi Nguyen and her husband Thang Nguyen, Thuy Bui, Ngoc Bui and his wife Minh Hanh Bui, Khanh Bui and his wife Huong Bui and Hoang Bui.
Memorial donations in honor of Bui Tuan Dung may be made payable to Bao Quang Temple. There will be a donation box placed inside the funeral home for anyone who would like to donate to the temple in lieu of flowers. The family will deliver the donations at a later time to the temple as a token of their appreciation.
Funeral Schedule at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Private service will be on Thursday, February 22nd. Guest viewing will be on Friday, February 23rd from 3-8pm. Funeral service will be on Saturday, February 24th from 3-6pm. Private cremation service will be on Sunday, February 25th.
