47 years after coming into the world, Derrick Anthony Hayes passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones in San Antonio, TX. No doubt, Derrick will be screaming and rooting for his beloved San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys from heaven.
He was born February 9, 1971, in San Antonio. Derrick graduated from Madison High School in 1989. He had an amazing way of relating to those he met, by being personal and lending an ear to anyone who needed it. Derrick never compromised who he was and always kept true to living life to its fullest.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, mother Eugenia Hayes, and three sons; Corey, Jordan and Ryan Hayes. Derrick is survived by grandmother, Gladys Hayes, brother, Demetrus (Mary) Hayes, three nieces, Deedra, Desiree, Dionne and one nephew, Devon Hayes. Also, treasuring the life Derrick lived is, uncles, Eugene and Emile Hayes, along with aunts, Suzette (Larry) Cade, Gabby Hayes and Elaina Templeton. He was also survived by numerous cousins and plenty of friends he considered family.
Derrick’s big smile, positive outlook and hearty laugh will always remain with friends and family. Our family asks that you continue to rejoice Derrick’s memory by celebrating the life he led versus mourning the loss we all feel.
