Derrell Taylor

Derrell Dean Taylor, Jr., born May 26th, 1965, at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, passed away March 25th, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Derrell Taylor, Sr. and Shirley Jo Tull. He is survived by his son, Brandon John Taylor, Brandon's wife Brandyce and his amazing Grandson, Logan Lane Taylor. He is also survived by his step-mother Paula Taylor and his sisters Gina and husband Chris Brandes, Michelle and husband Rusty Holder along with their children and grandchildren. Derrell loved sports and was a Spurs fanatic. The Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR were watched with his friends and family as often as possible. As we mourn the loss of Derrell, we find comfort in knowing that he was loved by so many. San Antonio AIDS Foundation (SAAF) has been a lifeline and support system in Derrell's life for many years. The compassion and patience he received from them is just one example of all they do for the AIDS community. Esmerelda Putina, his girlfriend, has been a true gift for Derrell. He was loved and in love at the end of his life, making plans and dreaming of the future. The family is eternally grateful for the SAAF, their staff and especially Janice, Dr. Bullock, for her loving care. His friends Mike, Blake, Cassandra and many others. They have all been family for him and he loved them fiercely. There will be a fellowship for Derrell at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 31st at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, TX 78239, with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 am, there at Chapel Hill.
