On Thursday, September 8, 2022, David Andrew Davis passed away at the age of 74. David was born on July 13, 1948 in Houston, TX to John and Edith Davis. Over the years, he served as a pilot, flight instructor, a police officer, and a firefighter, among other professions before he retired. David was married twice and fathered 5 sons and 2 daughters. Fondly known as “Big Dave”, he loved music. He could sing and play guitar, and his favorite singer was Johnny Cash. He was known for his big personality, his love of flying, his jokes, his self-sacrificing nature, and his strength. Dave was preceded in death by his father (John) his mother (Edith), his stepfather (Albert), his brothers (John Harrison III, Philip, Don, and Wayne), his sisters (Gladys, Helen, and Carol), his second wife (Connie), and his grandson (Stephen). He is survived by his first wife (Trudy), his sons (Dave Jr., Jem, Daniel, Jason, and Jeremy), his daughters (Debra and Jessica), his sisters (Joyce and Marie), and his brother (Harrison), as well as 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in San Antonio, TX on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 2 o’clock p.m.
