Daniel Harshman

Daniel R. Harshman, 76, of San Antonio, Texas passed away Saturday May 24, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lida Harshman, daughter Sarah Hammond, and grandson Jacob Hammond, all of Central Texas.

Dan graduated from South Whitley High School with the class of 1955. After completing his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University, he proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force, defending the United States of America in the conflict with Vietnam as a decorated FAC.

He and Mimi enjoyed being stationed in Texas, Florida, California, New Mexico, New York and Italy. After his Air Force retirement, Dan went into business for himself, creating Harshman Sales for which he was the sole proprietor until the end of his life. His work allowed him to meet all sorts of people and help them in an efficient and affordable manner. He never met a stranger and he had a smile and joke for everyone.

At his request, his remains have been cremated and we will be holding a celebration of his life near South Whitley, Indiana on August 2, 2014.
