Cynthia Thornton

Cynthia Lynn Thornton, age 65 years, passed away March 2nd, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. Born July 19th, 1951 in Hawaii, she was the daughter of the late Garland Midgett, Sr. and Delores Rose Thompson. She is survived by her brother Garland and his wife Stell, and her niece Chandra Monnett. She also leaves behind many caring friends. One of whom writes; "A gentle soul, too kind for this world. Ever curious and welcoming to adventure, Never one to shy from a challenge. Her smile contagious, her laughter sincere. Her presence will be missed, but we take solace knowing her spirit will live on through those who loved her, May she rest in peace." Her niece, Chandra added; "Aunt Cindy has always been one of my favorite people. Since I was a child, I wanted to be just like her. I always knew how much she loved me. She was so expressive and always gave me all she could. I will miss her always." Garland, her brother wrote; " Cindy was a people person and very caring, Every time I would visit her, regardless of her condition-physical or financial- she was always talking about trying to help friends and neighbors whom she felt needed help more than she did with whatever resources she had. When healthy, she was a hard worker who wasn't afraid to try new things to make a living. She was adventurous, loved to travel, dance and spend time with her friends. She had a big heart. She loved animals and always had a pet, usually a dog and usually more than one. She was a loving sister who always welcomed me with open arms and a big smile." A memorial service will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on March 11,2017 at 11:00 AM 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, Tx. 78239
