Cynthia Gregory

The world lost a beloved mother, Cynthia Ballard Gregory, on October 19, 2022, at the age of 65. Cindy fought a hard fight against breast cancer for 15 years, but it never stopped her from being an amazing mother and “Oma” to her family. Cindy was originally from Lincolnton NC, graduating from East Lincoln High School in 1975. She then joined the Air Force where she had the chance to travel and see the world. She’ll be remembered as a caring mother, a fantastic cook, a beautiful writer, a talented seamstress and an animal lover.

Cynthia is survived by her two children, Mark and Ashley, to whom she was a strong and loving single parent, her caring sister, Melody Rhyne of Maiden, NC, her grandchildren, Angelique, Mark, Azalea, Grayson, and Zelda, as well as her niece, nephews, cousins and many friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Mable Ballard Wiles and Larry Wilson Ballard, as well as her brother, Larry Wayne Ballard.

Her memorial will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on November the 8th at 2:45 in shelter 5 where she will be awarded military honors and remembered by those who love her.
