It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Carmen Ruiz Martinez transitioned into everlasting peace on April 10, 2024, at the age of 78.

Carmen was born on March 13, 1946, in San Antonio, TX, and lived a life abundant with love, empathy, and happiness. Carmen was a retired educator, having received her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from UTSA.

Carmen's memory will continue to be cherished by her loving husband of 59 years, Enrique Martinez, and her children Arlene Diane (Anthony) Castilla, Virginia Sommers, and Laura (David) Fuentes. Her legacy will be kept alive by her six grandchildren, Jesse, Adrian, Madison Nicole, Amelia Rose, Brandon, and David Matthew. Her five great-grandchildren, Jett, Hayeden, Corbin, June, and Mina, will remember her with deep fondness. Carmen’s brother Arturo Ruiz, sister-in-law Esther (George) Ruiz, and a host of other cherished family members and friends also join in this circle of mourning.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Arthuro and Estella Ruiz, her brother George Ruiz, and her sister-in-law Yolanda (Arturo) Ruiz.
