Carl Koonce

Mr. Carl E Koonce was born on February 27th, 1956 in Cuero, Texas to Carl Thompson and Dorothy Jean Koonce and went to be with the Lord on January 28th, 2014. Carl never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone he met. He was well known in his hometown of Cuero where he took part in "The Glory Years", The Glory Years, 1972 to 1975 were when four Gobbler football teams set a record of a forty four game winning streak which still ranks Cuero Gobblers fifth on the Texas High School Football All-Time Consecutive Win List. Anything Carl attempted, he put his heart and soul in it. He was a hard worker and always took pride in anything he did. Carl always had a smile on his face and was willing to help his friends and neighbors. Carl was a shining star and this world will be a much sadder place without him in it.

Carl is survived by his wife, Gloria Koonce, his son, Carl Eugene Koonce Jr, his daughter Chanelle Koonce, His brothers, John Dunston and Carlon Thompson, and his sisters, Linda Reese, Vickie Dunston and Cheodora Dunston and eight grandchildren.
