Benito John Hernandez

Benito J Hernandez left this earth to be with our Lord on Thursday September 26th surrounded by many of his loved ones. Benito, otherwise known as Ben, Dad, Gramps, PoPo', Tio, Primo and "Cowboy" loved fishing, reading and spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. A very loving family man, he loved watching Dallas Cowboys football. 

Ben, who was a 1959 graduate of Fox Tech HS, was an avid baseball player in high school,even being scouted by Major League Baseball. He was born on December 30, 1940 to John & Victoria Hernandez in San Antonio and had many relatives and friends both in San Antonio and Boerne, Texas. 

Ben was preceded in death by his Mother (Victoria Hernandez), Father ( John Hernandez), granddaughter (Nicole Hernandez), Grandson (Anthony Garcia), and brother Johnny Hernandez (Patricia). Ben is survived by his wife of 39 years, Shirlene R Hernandez, sister Virginia Rabel, brother Lawrence Hernandez, Sons Ben Jr (Claudia), John D Garcia (Julie), daughters Teresa Hernandez and Patricia Hernandez and step son Robert Nixon (Kim)as well as grandkids BJ Hernandez(Courtney), J D Garcia Samantha Hernandez Scallions (Jacob), Joshua Nixon(Helen), Kory Lowery, Michael Nixon, Samantha Nixon, Savannah Nixon and Olivia Nixon as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and lots of cousins and friends. Ben will be greatly missed but leaves behind wonderful, beautiful memories and Love.
